Over the Easter break....
Homework has been sent out today (along with something special for Mother's Day!) All children need to know the letter names and the sounds of the alphabet. Keywords to recap are: an, as, at, if, in, is. Children should be able to sound out, read and write these independently in a sentence. After the break we will be teaching the following words: children, just, help, little, said, there. Please support your child in learning to read and write all their keywords. Thank you for your continued support - have a lovely break.

Adjectives!
In our literacy session today we have been thinking about adjectives (describing words) to tell people about the fruits in Handa's basket. Here are a few super ideas......
Pineapple - It's spiky, the top is green, in fact it's all green (Jacob) It's hard and prickly (Leo) Very spiky, for eating, good for you (Libby)
Orange - take the skin off, circle shape, feels smooth (Harry) Cold, round and orange coloured (Guy)
Mango - green, roundish, shaped like a rugby ball (Jacob) Big, got a spike in it, bit cold, bit warm (Lucas) Hard it would be ouch to eat (Alex)
Banana - big like a mouth with skin (Harry) Yellow, straight with an upside down smile (Libby)
Avocado - Black and crushy (Lucas) Rolly, soft and hard (Cagri) Black, ball shaped and lumpy (Jacob)
