Our houses, on our street.....

Thank you to Mrs Friar for creating this super display of the children's work.

Pom poms!

This week the children have been learning about the wonderful things that Grandmas can do. Sadly we don't have time to teach them all to knit, but we have been making super pom poms with wool!

Have a look at these.....

Family Tree

As part of our topic work, we asked the children to complete a simple family tree for homework. We have had some amazing work back in!!

Here are some examples. If your family tree had photographs on it, we are not able to upload it into the blog, but it will be on display in our classroom.

Sounds of the week, tricky words and high frequency words

THANK YOU to all the parents and carers who are supporting our work in class and encouraging their children to practice their sounds and high frequency words. We are really impressed with the progress that the children have made over the last four weeks and your support is invaluable.

We have also listened to some fabulous readers and again the extra practice the children undertake at home really does have a massive impact on their reading. We are sure you are equally impressed!

The sounds for next week are:

w (as in wig, wag etc)
j (as in jog, jot etc)
n (as in not, nip etc)
e (as in egg, net etc)

and the high frequency words are: I/is/a/can/big/the
